SUMMARY:

The assistant manager is responsible for exhibiting exceptional leadership skills and be able to provide outstanding customer service. You will be responsible to oversee and ensure the daily operations of the business in the absence of the company manager.

 

Employment Status:

Full-Time, minimum 40 hours per week. Must maintain open availability to meet the needs of the business and may be required to work more than 40 hours a week, certain holidays and blackout dates.

 

Working Conditions:

Work is performed with moderate physical effort and may require a significant amount of walking and standing. The position has a low risk of injury; however, the position does require lifting up to 35 pounds.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Offer and ensure personalized experience to all customers, greet each customer with a warm and friendly welcome

*Identify and anticipate the needs of all clients (families, groups)

*Manage staffing initiatives (staff scheduling, provide coaching and mentorship, etc.)

*Assist in the recruitment, development and disciplinary process of the staff to ensure standards are met and company growth is supported

*Maintain safety in the workplace; prevent accidents and report all incidents of unsafe conditions and/or practices in a timely manner.

*Ensure that all the customers have paid

*Organising the activities for groups

*Experience with a cash register, POS System, Closing and opening of cash

*Making sure that the premises are kept clean at all times

*Answering customers’ emails, phone calls and questions in both English and French

*Manage all aspects of social media as well as our website

*Propose and advise customers on a specific range of products and services offered

*Provide input of the staff’s Performance Appraisals, Individual Development and Performance Improvement.

* Do all the training needed to acquire the required level of knowledge to the function

*Know the task and needs of each activity

* Learn and respect the policies, standards and established procedures

* May be asked to do other tasks not listed above

*Must be authorized to work in Canada

*Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in customer service

*Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in working with children and families

*Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in managing personnel and groups of children

*Hold a certificate in CPR and First Aid is an asset

*Experience with some accounting an asset

*Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in both French and English

*Use tact and respect in communication, whether with employees or customers

*Effective leadership skills to mentor and motivate staff

*Be dynamic and creative

*Being able to manage time and to be autonomous

*Possess a good sense of humour

*Ability to establish good relationships with employees and customers

*Capable of working well in a team

*Able to delegate a team with certain obligations, work duties

*Knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook

*Appropriate appearance to work with children

*LOVE WORKING WITH CHILDREN
