Winter 2019- Laboratory Engineer INTERNSHIP

This is a Full-time position in Laval, QC posted October 6, 2018.

Camfil Power Systems is a leading supplier of air filtration and acoustic treatment systems for gas turbines with its headquarters for the Americas in Laval. This opportunity is open to both intermediate and junior level candidates.

Ideally, you are already familiar with gas turbines or the application of turbomachinery or power generation Equipment. Related experience would be industrial air handling equipment, acoustics, or process Equipment for the energy or resource industries. Your primary function would be that of laboratory engineer consisting of the following activities:

  • Perform calibration of filter testing procedures and instruments
  • Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable data for analysis
  • Carry out routine tasks accurately and follow strict procedures to carry out analyses
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment
  • Monthly Presentation update
  • Inventory all the filters in the warehouse with a test request form
  • Document processes and create manuals for test instruments and processes in the lab
  • Perform risk and safety analysis and make improvements of environment
  • Improve and amend written procedures for data collection
  • Produce lab reports in English
  • Read and familiarize with various standard test procedures
  • Present periodically data and analysis results to laboratory team

Environment and ergonomics

  • May be required to work at heights up to 8 ft
  • May be required to lift up to 40 lbs – filter installation for testing.

Requirements:

  • Must have an analytical and scientific background;
  • Must be autonomous;
  • Ability to troubleshoot the equipment
  • Some physical effort required for filters replacement;
  • Must be rigorous and detail oriented;
  • Strong English writing skills;
  • Team player;
  • Must be able to work from the Laval office.

Qualifications

  • Student enrolled in an Engineering University Program or Science University Program or CEGEP Technical Program
  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Pro
