Heavy Equipment Sales Representative (Laval)

This is a Full-time position in Laval, QC posted August 9, 2018.

This role is offered in ourLaval branch location.


The Sales Representative will develop the full sales potential of the heavy equipment market to increase the share for SMS Equipment. He/She will promote, sell and rent, various product lines distributed by SMS Equipment for the construction and forestry industries.

  • Maximize revenue and profits within the assigned territory.
  • Represent SMS Equipment and conduct business transactions on her behalf.
  • Study the market situation, set goals and objectives, plan prospecting activities accordingly.
  • Prepare daily and weekly report on sales activities.
  • Determine the needs of new and existing customer, assess their equipment, and recommend the proper equipment needed to meet their expectations.
  • Prepare business proposals and have them approved by the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure that the customer receives proper and adequate information on the operation and maintenance of the product purchased.
  • Inform the clientele of price, terms and conditions, warrantees, delivery date and credit options.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by Operations Manager.


  • Eager to succeed and very energetic, the successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Well versed in construction and forestry equipment, having a broad understanding of its operations and function, is a definite asset.
  • Minimum of5 to7 years of successful outside selling experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to build strong relationships.
  • Must have ability to travel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Outlook.
