Automation & Control Specialist

MISSIONS
The Automation and Control Specialist will program & start up the control system on a production line under the supervision of the Project Manager or the Senior Automation and Control Specialist.
RESPONSABILITIES
He or she will accomplish the following tasks:
- Participate in the setting up of the control system philosophy
- Prepare the automation programming
- Write technical reports
- Participate in the verification of the installation and the start-up of the line or equipment
- Improve and manage the growth of the installation and start-up department
- Carry out simple mechanical adjustments as required
- Follow and respect quality procedures according to Gebo Cermex’s standard
- Respect the time limits for each phase of the project in which he is involved
- Contribute to and promote a good team spirit and respect other team members
- Contribute to and promote the image of the company by his/her professionalism, reliability, accuracy, innovation and good customer service relations
Available to travel for a period spread out over several consecutive weeks to the United States and possess a valid passport.
Education : Univeristy Degree in technical field (Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience
Experience : At least 3 years of experience or participation in 5 projects with multiple equipments.
Competences / Specific knowledge :
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC, Allen-Bradley, TI, Siemens or Modicon);
- with Variable Frequency Drives, Proximity Sensors, Photo eyes, Sonic;
- with Communication networks such as Modbus, Sinec, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet;
- with the development of operator interface such as Wonderware, Intouch, Ifix, RSView, ZenOn and with electrical wiring
- Knowledge of PID Loop, instrumentation
- Basic knowledge of PC’s for the installation of automation specific software and of control concepts and machine diagnostics
- Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken); Spanish will be an asset.
