As we strive to be at the forefront of a complex and vastly changing retail industry, it is an exciting time to join the Canadian Tire family of companies.You will efficiently and effectively develop and code complex Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) applications and Digital solutions using test-driven and agile methodologies that will perform optimally within a large production environment and that are easy to sustain.

If you are an experienced Java Developer, but don’t have the AEM experience we are open to providing you with the support and training to upgrade your skillset to be successful as an integral member of the AEM Development team.

The Java AEM code will meet business requirements; follow appropriate standards; embed test automation code; meet SLA’s and support processes will be documented.

You will also provide technical guidance to other AEM project members and to junior members of the Digital IT team.What You’ll Do Application detailed design, development, testing and documentation for client group applications Participate in project activities and progress reporting to development lead and functional manager Deliver regular code updates on assigned work Document technical grooming of user stories Complete code reviews and design reviews Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Participate in Testing cycles for production code Project/task effort estimation.

Must be able to provide accurate estimates for project effort.

Provide 3rd level support to applications support team for incident and problem resolution every few months on rotations Engage in ongoing skills development and knowledge acquisition Contributing to an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial team Scrum Agile participation (stand up, planning, etc.) Build reusable code and libraries for future use Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end development teams Participation on project activities and progress reporting to development lead and functional manager Be a self-driven member of a cross functional development team to deliver solutions for business requirements Play an active role and take ownership of optimization and performance activities Escalate any issues to the Senior Team Lead as required Be cognizant of security, organizational risk, PCI, and business at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle Provide technical mentorship to junior server-side developer team members.

experience in progressive analysis and design related positions 5+ years of Java J2EE development experience Adobe Experience Manager 6.5 development experience an asset Demonstrable experience with test-driven development and writing automated unit tests Strong experience in providing all round expertise in developing Java based Content Management Systems Strong experience in LINUX and/or UNIX environments Expert level of SQL scripting and querying capabilities Knowledge of Oracle and MySQL databases and platforms is an asset Experience and skills in all Content Management lifecycle areas is necessary Demonstrates a strong understanding of Project Management and SDLC methodologies Very good verbal and written communications skills Experience in mentoring and coaching junior team members Development experience in the following is an asset: Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem Akamai ecosystem Java EE, JUnit, Spring, XML, MQ Series/JMS Web application firewalls, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic API Gateways management, microservices RHEL/Scripting/Commands About Canadian Tire CorporationCanadian Tire and its family of companies are boldly shaping retail in Canada and we continue to deliver a positive experience for our customers.
