Senior Technical writer

We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team. Reporting to the Development Manager, your role will be to work closely with the software delivery team. You will be responsible for delivering the documentation provided with the software and confirming its quality. You will also be responsible for assisting the technical writers – quality assurance and other documentation contributors in the production of documents according to established standards and delivery deadlines and in the use of documentation tools. You will also be called upon to write general and administrative documents for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Document the procedures surrounding the contribution of content by the tools in place
• Use his/her knowledge of the technical writing field to improve and propose changes to the process and tools in place
• Ensure the harmonization of the documentation presentation and make the necessary changes, according to the best practices of the industry
• Oversee the documentation preparation required for the software release
• Prepare the documentation final package provided with the software release
• Prepare documents for the online version of the documentation
• Review and update general and administrative documents
• Research and propose terminology to be used to present the various application concepts.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical writing experience in the computer industry, software development or other relevant field
• Experience in technical writing in the IT or software development, payment industry or other relevant field
• Technical expertise and understanding of retail terms
• Familiarity with screen capture software and HTML usage
• Strong ability to translate from English to French and vice versa
• Good analytical skills, good communication skills and ability to make information easily understandable
• Well organized, detail-oriented and thorough
• Ability to manage deadlines, priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to anticipate problems and take steps to find solutions
• Perfect knowledge of French and English (written and spoken)
