Located in Laval, QC – one of our clients is a 3PL looking for an import/export coordinator for one of their clients.
Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor at our client, the candidate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of logistics (Ground, Air, Ocean, Mail) for our clients. He or she will deal directly with customers, carriers and various departments of the company. He or she is required to manage operations effectively to ensure that objectives are met.
Specific responsibilities:
* Analyzes customer requests and proposes appropriate solutions
* Performs the necessary research with the various carriers in order to adequately respond to customer requests and, if necessary, solicits the help of his immediate supervisor
* Selects carriers based on customer needs and specified criteria.
* Obtain quotes and analysis of transportation rates.
* Prepares quotes for clients based on all their specifications, validates terms and obtains necessary approvals
* Coordinates logistics/operations in accordance with Incoterms
* Manages day-to-day priorities related to the logistics and freight operations of its customers, and ensures that all required documents are completed accurately.
* Ensures that the information entered in the PGI concerning customs compliance is up to date
* Process shipping documents
* Ensures liaison with the various parties. Proactively identifies potential issues and ensures situations are resolved as quickly as possible, informing the customer and helping them find solutions.
* Audit and approval of invoices
* International freight forwarding and international trade compliance rules.
* 1-3 years of experience in a similar position;
* Experience in freight management;
* Mastery of Incoterms;
* Bilingual (French – English) (verbal and written)
* Mastery of the MS-Office suite;
* Knowledge of customs procedures and customs duties;
* Good geographical knowledge;
* SAP knowledge – a major asset
* Good written and oral communications;
* Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
* Ability to work under pressure;
* Good organisation;
* Respect of deadlines
