Located in Laval, QC – one of our clients is an SME in the food industry.
Today, they are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Sourcing Officer/Planner who will be responsible for purchasing products for our business. Responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, interacting with vendors and various teams within the organization, tracking orders, and creating and maintaining optimal inventory.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, here is the mandate in more detail:
* Make purchases in accordance with established cost and delivery targets
* Make purchases to ensure that demand is met and maintain an adequate level of inventory
* Establish relationships of trust with suppliers
* Prepare purchase orders based on forecast demand
* Manage and communicate any supply issues that may affect business operations
* Be the person responsible for communications between suppliers and other departments concerned: operations, inventory, marketing, sales and finance
* Prepare and maintain up-to-date reports
* Assist members of the department in achieving the objectives of the continuous improvement process
* Maintain vendor performance data to enable assessment
* As needed, contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or billing issues
* Optimally establish the cost of the company according to the parameters set.
* Track and update the status of orders; ETA, quantities in the database
* Negotiate transport costs with freight forwarders
* Coordinate transportation to ensure timely and proper handling of cargo
* Manage all import documents and forward them to the responsible broker for customs clearance
* Other related tasks
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
* Relevant experience (3 years preferable)
* Skills in managing and manipulating data according to business objectives
* Analytical – organize information carefully and have an aptitude for numbers
* Strong computer skills (Microsoft office suite – Excel, Word)
* Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
* Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations
* Knowledge of SAP (an asset)
* Good knowledge of import and export processes and documentation (an asset)
* Perfectly bilingual (English and French, spoken and written).
