We are assisting one of our clients in the agri-food sector in their search for a Warehouse Supervisor located on the North Shore.
Reporting to the Logistics Director, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the warehouse including receiving and shipping, filling and order picking.
Job description includes:
– Supervise and develop a team;
– Communicate and ensure the application of policies
procedures and regulations;
– Promote occupational health and safety, quality assurance
and continuous improvement;
– Ensure the daily management of unionized employees
(disciplinary notice, temporary assignment, work accident
accident investigation);
– Coordinate and follow up on the training of new
warehouse employees as well as training related to forklift
driving for the entire for the entire plant;
– Evaluate the performance and efficiency of employees,
including the probationary period of new employees;
– Provide leadership to foster team spirit, employee
motivation and satisfaction, and a good work
environment;
– Optimize the use of various resources to ensure the
smooth operation of the warehouse operations while
ensuring that the needs of internal and external
customers are respected;
– Communicate with external carriers/warehouses,
as required;
– Follow up on material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet
trucks, hand trucks…);
– Ensure that the safety devices of the equipment are
functional and enforce them;
– Maintain a clean, tidy, organized and safe work
environment,
– DEC in an appropriate discipline (administration, operations
management, logistics management) or equivalent
experience;
– Minimum of five (5) years experience in a food processing
environment;
– Possess a valid certification in narrow aisle forklift and
and electric counterbalance (optional);
– Experience working with the union environment (optional);
– Good communicator and leader to mobilize a team to meet
the objectives;
– Excellent sense of priorities and ability to make decisions;
– Ability to work under pressure;
– Problem solving and management skills for multiple priorities
– High availability
