Assistant Technician 1 – Animal Care -$1,000 Sign on Bonus

This is a Contract position in Laval, QC posted November 25, 2021.

We are seeking an Assistant Technician 1 for our Toxicology department site located in Laval (Greater Montreal area) in Canada.

The following are responsibilities related to the Assistant Technician 1 position :

  • Perform all tasks such as syringe filling, capture of body weight or food consumption ans other simple tasks (dog exercises, enrichment, etc.) in compliance with GLPs;
  • Capture computerized data and properly fill-in audit trails;
  • Handle animals for any activity that requires it;
  • Prepare animal rooms in a timely manner to ensure that required supplies are available;
  • Clean all type of animal housing units and related accessories;
  • Ensure appropriate water is always available for all animals;
  • Remove domestic and biomedical waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers.

Salary:

  • Basic: $16.25 / hour,
  • Weekend and Evening: $2.50 premium added to your hourly rate
  • After 37,5 h : Overtime paid at time and a half
  • Holiday: Paid at double time

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Assistant Technician position :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Reading of English is required. Bilingualism is preferable;
  • Good stress management;
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
  • Flexibility to work on changing work schedules, including evening and weekends.
