Dynacare is currently looking for a Genetic Counsellor who will be responsible for providing genetics counselling support to physicians and patients.

This is a Temporary Full-Time role (Maternity Leave coverage) working 37.5 hours weekly.  

Genetic Counsellor required to work remotely following Eastern Standard Time business hours. This is a Bilingual (English/French) role.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide genetic support to Dynacare personnel
• Provide genetic counselling to Dynacare customers (over the phone): physicians and patients
• Explain genetic test/prenatal screening results to clients as needed
• Provide recommendations for follow-up based on results Propose and support the development of new genetic services
• Keep up to date on new developments in genetics to help identify new services to be launched
• Help to create and complete business plans pertaining to genetic tests being launched Collaborate in the preparation of genetics-related educational materials, including marketing documents, presentations and selling tools, for patients or medical personnel
• Deliver presentations to targeted audiences on a needed basis
• Help to create and deliver workshops to Dynacare clients for genetic tests currently being offered
• Maintain high level scientific and medical knowledge in connection to our genetic services
• Provide training to our sales team and customer service team on a needed basis
• Aid in the creation of training documents for both the sales team and customer service
• Participate in selected conferences on a needed basis to support our customers and marketing strategies
• Become Dynacare genetic scientific lead for our services

 KEY QUALIFICATION

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counselling
• Board certified or board eligible Genetic Counsellor (CBGC or ABGC)
• Bilingualism (French/English)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a genetic counsellor and up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field of genetics
• Demonstrated assessment and counselling skills
• Demonstrated organizational and presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
• Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex scientific information
