Senior Quality Assurance Manager

Dynacom Technologies inc.

This is a Contract position in Laval, QC posted July 27, 2022.

As a Sr. QA Manager at Nutcache, you will lead a team of highly-trained QA analysts in an embedded QA, Agile development environment. You will create, manage, monitor the tasks and collaborate with Scrum Master, Product Managers for all Sprint cycles and communicating status to all relevant collaborators. You will partner with delivery, engineering, product, proactively defining and prioritizing work to support all Sprint cycles.

You will develop your team’s workload, oversee the communication and collaboration between your QA team and development partners, coordinate the creation and implementation of test plans, and promote continuous development to improve your direct reports. You will ensure consistent knowledge-sharing, learning, documentation, as well as improving tools and processes as necessary for your analysts to excel. In addition to their professional development, you will be responsible for the hiring and organizational structure of your team. You will also frequently be called upon to troubleshoot and adapt to solve problems in dynamic, high-energy situations. This is a full-time position that collaborates with development at all levels of leadership.


  • Strategic planning for multiple projects, QA process operations;
  • Oversee team in delivery of test planning, preparation and execution activities;
  • Accountable for all project/release testing (e.g., integration, business acceptance, performance, operability, deployment verification, Sanity, Regression and building Automation suite);
  • Oversee creation of testing strategies, plans and project documentation using risk analysis methodologies and tools that align with a project’s development approach;
  • Manage documentation creation, review, sign-off (e.g., strategies, plans, schedule, cost estimates, test cases, dashboards, defect logs, test phase closure reports, entry/exit criteria, gating), ensure artifacts adhere to standards and audit requirements;
  • Accountable for test environments setup and availability including necessary test data required during test execution phase;
  • Finalizes test status reports for the project including forecasting and managing the project status as per the plan;
  • Remove impediments, decision on tools and test approach, managing the risks associated and escalations as required;
  • Lead defect triage meetings ensuring correct priority and severity levels are assigned;
  • Ensure SLAs are met for defect turnaround times as per the severity and priority levels
  • Communicate, address scope changes that may impact testing;
  • Participate in test case review, execution to meet timelines, manage/support team in creating reusable test assets for manual/automated test scripts;
  • Oversee or chair daily defect status calls to ensure prompt, thorough documentation, tracking, testing. report on test planning, execution, defects using metrics;
  • Develop, manage operational processes. ensure QA processes tie into technology delivery practices, standards;
  • Manage intake/demand/schedule, perform risk assessments, communicate/negotiate timelines, budget, staffing, scope, milestones;
  • Accountable for team’s adherence to processes, timely issue notification, escalated risks and issue reviews, contingency plan development, risk resolution, facilitates overall escalation process;
  • Ensure testing does not impact the production environment (e.g., file transmission scheduling), meets information security/privacy policies/guidelines;
  • Implement and ensure team adherence to quality, operational, and service management processes;
  • Provide cost/resource estimates and revisions, track financials, provide forecasts;
  • Manage intake and demand, coordinate resources. identify resources across work streams, ensure maximum resource effectiveness;
  • Participate in test artifact audit reviews;
  • Provide coaching, development, succession, recruitment, resource management, team leadership, input into performance and development plans;
  • Day to day management of Functional QA team along with hands-on QA activities;
  • Guide the Functional group on various processes and procedures that enhance productivity;
  • Work closely with Customer Support Manager on Production issues triaging.

  • Post Graduate Degree preferred;
  • 10+ years relevant Quality Engineering experience;
  • A great attitude, be adaptable when challenges arise, and ability to learn quickly;
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-detect potential issues;
  • Enthusiasm to take on responsibility and deliver great software products;
  • Be a hands-on manager who takes pride in learning the ins and outs of the product they manage;
  • Strength in setting strategy and direction at an operational level, works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals;
  • Readiness to direct/manage activities spanning across multiple product lines/businesses, involving significant scope and complexity;
  • Must have exposure to automation and digitization;
  • Good knowledge on Automation Framework, CICD, Jenkins, Selenium, Python;
  • CSTE, Performance and Automation Certification preferred.;
  • Must have some experience in driving Automation and technology transformation in earlier projects.
