Business Development Specialist

Our client, a company that stands out for its innovations in flooring products, is looking for a Business Development Specialist to implement and execute the business development strategy for the North American and eventually international market. The specialist will report to the Director of Business Development.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Develop a targeted lead generation strategy (distributors and large direct accounts) at the North American level.
  • Qualify business opportunities using tangible data collected through market research and other sources.
  • Promote the company’s value proposition and communicate it to target leads through customized presentations to position yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Strengthen existing business relationships by positioning yourself as a source of solutions and as a trusted advisor.
  • Promote and develop the company’s brand.
  • Participate in industry events.
  • Contribute to the allocation of budgets and the setting of sales objectives.
  • Negotiate and renew customer agreements.
  • Communicate data gathered through competitive intelligence and innovative industry practices.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development and B2B sales.
  • Experience in the flooring industry is an asset.
  • Bilingualism, both written and oral (French and English).
  • Ability to use the most common computer tools in the business world (MS Office, CRM, LinkedIn).
  • Willingness to travel mainly in Canada and the United States.
  • Have access to a car.
