Sama: Senior Product Manager – Platform


This is a Full-time position in Laval, QC posted February 17, 2021.

About the Job:This role will spearhead and own the creation of a new product line within Sama, this is not a cog-in-the-machine type role, it’s for those who want to set a vision and execute on it.

We are looking for someone to roll up their sleeves and help us set a model for how it should be done.We are building upon our state of the art annotation platform to make it more useful for ML Engineers and Data Scientists.

We aim to allow them to benefit from the expertise Sama has in preparing data for their ML applications while also providing value at the enterprise level.

To help with this mission, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and idealistic Senior Product Manager who loves to create innovative, intuitive, and efficient tools for ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Project Managers.The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical customer focus and an intuitive sense for product.

You’re somebody who spends time with customers, understands the market forces, understands the technical implementation details, can work cross-functionally, knows how to make tradeoff decisions, how to launch and iterate on a product, and can launch successful products into the marketplace.Key Responsibilities:Develop the product strategy for the Customer Facing PlatformManage expectations at all levels including senior leadershipOwn the roadmap for development with your engineering counterparts including producing ROI tradeoffsWork with your engineering and UX counterparts on a day-to-day basis to design, build, execute and launch your productsOwn core KPIs for SamaManage relationships with internal teams and external users for early adoption, testing, and productionDevelop metrics and tracking frameworks to measure product and feature adoption and impactMaintain relevant technical product documentationAdvocate Sama technology externallyCollaborate with Marketing and Sales for the GTM of Platform launchesCollaborate with VP of Product on cross-functional strategic initiatives Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or technical skills learned on the job5+ years of product management or similar experienceShipped a successful product in the last 2 yearsWillingness for occasional travel to client sites, outside of COVID, to understand how the Platform is being used and glean customer insights Preferred Qualifications:Strong interest and history of doing work that makes a differencePreviously worked on relevant technical consumer or B2B user technologiesProven track record of repeatedly shipping successful productsPrior experience working in a startup environmentBe self-drivenGreat sense of humorHistory of working effectively with remote teams across time zonesMBA About Sama:25% of the Fortune 50 trust Sama to deliver secure, high-quality training data and validation for the technology teams driving humanity forward.
